1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how the AQual Chrome extension handles information. AQual is designed for one purpose: applying user-selected visual accessibility adjustments to webpages.
2. Information AQual Handles
AQual may access page content only to apply requested accessibility features in the browser. Data handling in this release is local to the user browser session and extension storage.
- Extension settings: accessibility preferences (for example font, contrast, display controls) saved in Chrome extension storage.
- Website content: page text and elements may be processed locally so visual accessibility effects can be rendered.
- Optional screenshot data: when the user triggers screenshot capture, image data is stored locally by the extension for display.
3. How Information Is Used
Information is used only to provide and maintain AQual accessibility features and remember user preferences. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
4. Data Sharing and Selling
AQual does not sell user data. AQual does not transfer user data to third parties for purposes unrelated to its single purpose.
5. Remote Code and External Processing
This release does not use remote executable code. Extension logic is packaged with the extension. This release does not require backend processing for its active functionality.
6. Permissions
- storage: saves accessibility settings and extension UI preferences.
- activeTab: enables user-invoked actions on the currently active tab.
- scripting: injects packaged AQual CSS/JS into the active tab after user action so visual accessibility features can be applied on the current page.
7. Retention and Security
AQual keeps only data required for feature operation and settings persistence. Data is stored using Chrome extension storage mechanisms under the user browser profile.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, this page will be revised and the "Last updated" date will change.
